Description
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Tax Manager (m/f/d) to join our global tax team in Zug. This is a unique opportunity to move into a broad international in-house tax role with direct exposure to senior leadership, strategic projects and cross-border tax matters.
Reporting directly to the Global Head of Tax, you will take ownership of tax matters relating to STOXX Ltd., while working closely with colleagues across Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Legal and the wider Deutsche Börse Group.
This role offers significantly broader exposure than a traditional compliance-focused position, combining Swiss and international tax, tax reporting, transfer pricing, governance and business partnering within a global organization.
Why Join This Role?
You will have the opportunity to:
- Own and shape tax matters for a globally recognized index business.
- Work directly with the Global Head of Tax and senior stakeholders.
- Gain exposure to Swiss and international tax issues across multiple jurisdictions.
- Develop into a trusted business partner supporting commercial and strategic decisions.
Your Responsibilities
Swiss & International Tax Compliance
- Own Swiss corporate income tax and VAT matters for STOXX Ltd. and coordinate tax compliance activities for its foreign branches and subsidiaries.
- Manage external advisors and oversee filings, tax payments, assessments and compliance processes across jurisdictions.
- Act as a key contact for tax authorities, auditors and external advisors.
- Monitor tax obligations, deadlines and advisor deliverables to ensure timely and effective compliance.
Tax Accounting, Reporting & Pillar Two
- Prepare and review quarterly and year-end tax calculations, including current and deferred taxes and effective tax rate reconciliations.
- Coordinate STOXX-related OECD Pillar Two and Swiss QDMTT activities in collaboration with Deutsche Börse Group Tax and external advisors.
- Support statutory audits and provide tax input for financial and management reporting.
Transfer Pricing & Intercompany Matters
- Manage the quarterly application of the STOXX transfer pricing model and support its ongoing development in collaboration with Finance, Accounting and Transfer Pricing experts.
- Coordinate the determination and documentation of taxable profits attributable to STOXX foreign branches and support relevant transfer pricing documentation, intercompany agreements and functional analyses.
- Partner with Finance and Accounting teams on transfer pricing and international tax matters.
Indirect Tax & Withholding Tax
- Advise on VAT/GST, withholding tax and cross-border transactions.
- Coordinate external advisors on indirect tax and withholding tax filings and help translate technical tax advice into practical business processes.
Tax Governance & Advisory
- Support the ISS STOXX Tax Compliance Management System, tax risk management framework and internal controls environment.
- Provide practical tax advice on commercial activities, contracts and business initiatives.
- Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Treasury, Sales and Operations on tax-related matters.
- Prepare clear tax analyses, recommendations and management presentations.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Law, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Swiss tax qualification or other relevant professional qualification is highly desirable.
- Typically 3+ years of relevant experience gained within an international tax advisory firm and/or the tax function of a multinational organization.
- Sound knowledge of Swiss corporate income tax and VAT.
- Relevant exposure to international tax, tax accounting and transfer pricing principles.
- Knowledge of OECD Pillar Two and Swiss QDMTT is advantageous.
- ERP experience (SAP S/4HANA or similar) is beneficial.
Personal Attributes
- Proactive, hands-on and solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Experience coordinating external advisors and working across jurisdictions.
- Comfortable interacting with senior stakeholders in an international environment.
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
