GENERAL OVERVIEW

This job assists the Invasive Cardiologist in the performance of diagnostic and interventional procedures; demonstrates leadership in collaboration with co-workers to achieve efficient and cost effective functioning of the department.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Integrates knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques being performed, and assists accordingly. (45%)
• Maintains expertise in current radiographic imagery techniques as they relate to invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures. (15%)
• Orients new staff on the operation of laboratory equipment. Troubleshoots malfunctions, and is knowledgeable of proper support personnel and instances when they need to be contacted. (15%)
• Anticipates adverse reactions/conditions when monitoring the effects of procedural activities, and responds appropriately. (15%)
• Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g., regulatory, billing protocols, and image storage and archival (10%)
• Performs all other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

• 3 years in a cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology
• Radiography certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) -OR- Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) -OR- Radiography (R) -OR- Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) certification issued by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist with Cardiovascular Credentialing International
• Requires critical thinking, decisive and independent judgment.

Preferred

• Associate's Degree preferred.

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• ACLS Certification
