Journeyman / Master Electrician

JLL | Mattawan, Michigan

JLL is seeking a skilled Journeyman or Master Electrician with 3–5 years of industrial electrical experience to support facilities operations in Mattawan, Michigan. This position performs troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance to keep building equipment and electrical systems operating safely and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair motors, motor starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), generators, and automatic transfer switches.
• Perform preventive maintenance, electrical testing, and inspections on building equipment and electrical distribution systems.
• Diagnose electrical faults and maintain controls supporting heating, ventilation, cooling, lighting, and other building services.
• Maintain and troubleshoot standby electrical power systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests, equipment breakdowns, and emergency callouts.
• Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track work orders, schedule maintenance, and document completed work.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow onsite quality assurance procedures, safety requirements, and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
• A minimum of 3 years of industrial electrical experience; 5 years preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license.
• Demonstrated proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, testing, inspection, and preventive maintenance.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
• Experience with standby electrical power systems or electrical equipment and controls supporting cooling systems.
• Relevant health and safety training or certifications.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, solve problems, and remain calm under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and a dependable approach to work.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, reach, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work at heights using appropriate fall protection and access equipment.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, noise levels, and building plant conditions.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet site grooming requirements necessary for safe PPE use.
• Availability for emergency callouts and breakdown response outside regular working hours.

Work Schedule: 1st shift/morning shift
