Special Education Aide – Part-Time, School Days Only (Howard County, MD)

Mfinite Consulting is building a pool of caring, dependable people for anticipated part-time positions supporting students with disabilities in public schools in Howard County, MD. As a Special Education Aide (Non-Medical Personal-Care Companion), you'll work beside students under a teacher's direction, helping them learn, communicate, and take part in the school day.

Pay & Schedule

• $18.50 – $20.50 per hour, based on experience
• Part-time, about 24 hours per week (never more than 32)
• School days only — no nights, no weekends, no summers
• W-2 employee of Mfinite Consulting LLC

What You'll Do

• Support students (ages 3–21) with cognitive, physical, medical, and/or behavioral disabilities, following the teacher's direction and the student's IEP and behavior plan
• Help the students with classroom activities, communication, and getting along with others
• Support the students at lunch, recess, assemblies, and transitions
• Assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting, hygiene, positioning, and wheelchair transfers (training and equipment provided by the school)
• Collect simple data on the students' goals and share progress with the teacher each day
• Encourage independence and treat every student with dignity and respect

What You Need

• 18 or older with a high school diploma or GED
• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• Able to pass a fingerprint-based Maryland and FBI background check, sex offender registry check, and a Maryland employment-history review for work with minors (Mfinite pays for fingerprinting)
• Physically able to lift, position, and assist students
• Reliable transportation to schools in Howard County
• Clear communication skills and a patient, positive attitude

Great Fit If You Have

• Experience with children or young adults with special needs — as a para, respite worker, RBT, camp counselor, caregiver, or childcare provider
• Studies in education, special education, psychology, or human services
