About Turing

Turing’s mission is to accelerate superintelligence to drive real economic progress. Headquartered in San Francisco, Turing works with frontier AI labs to generate high-quality datasets, reinforcement learning environments, and frontier research benchmarks that improve model capabilities in software engineering, enterprise knowledge work, and advanced STEM reasoning. In software engineering, Turing is the largest and longest-running data provider in the category. Turing also works with Fortune 500 enterprises across financial services, life sciences, healthcare, retail, automotive, and CPG to build and deploy end-to-end agentic AI systems inside mission-critical workflows. By operating on both sides, Turing closes the loop between frontier research and enterprise deployment, turning real-world deployment signals into better data, evaluations, and more capable models. Role: Research Partner - Frontier AI Sales
Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Experience Level: 7+ years of relevant sales or business development experience
Work Model: Onsite, five days per week in either the San Francisco or Palo Alto office.

Why Join Turing?

As a Research Partner, you will help drive revenue growth across Turing’s AI capabilities and talent solutions.

You will identify, develop, and expand client relationships, owning the full sales lifecycle from prospecting and opportunity qualification through solution development, negotiation, and closing.

This is a senior commercial role for someone who can independently originate and close complex business, build executive relationships, expand strategic accounts, and consistently deliver against revenue targets.

You will work closely with internal operations, talent, product, finance, and commercial teams to develop compelling proposals, deliver a strong client experience, and convert opportunities into long-term commercial partnerships.

As a Research Partner, You Will

Develop New Business

Identify, prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities across targeted accounts and markets.

Develop outbound sales strategies, manage inbound opportunities, and build qualified pipelines that support new client acquisition.

Own the Full Sales Cycle

Lead discovery, solution positioning, proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure.

Understand client requirements and align Turing’s capabilities with their business and technical needs.

Grow Strategic Accounts

Build strong relationships with existing clients and identify opportunities to expand engagements and increase account revenue.

Develop account strategies that support retention, cross-selling, and long-term commercial growth.

Lead Client Engagement

Build relationships with business, technical, and executive decision-makers. Understand organizational priorities, purchasing processes, and evolving requirements.

Communicate Turing’s capabilities and value proposition effectively to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Drive Commercial Results

Deliver against assigned sales quotas, bookings, and new business objectives.

Maintain a healthy, qualified pipeline and use data to monitor opportunity progression, account performance, and conversion.

Collaborate Across Turing

Partner with operations, talent, product, finance, and other commercial teams to develop proposals and support successful client engagements.

Coordinate internal resources to ensure client requirements, commercial commitments, and execution capabilities are aligned.

Strengthen Commercial Strategy

Share client feedback, competitive intelligence, and market insights to strengthen Turing’s commercial strategy and sales effectiveness.

The Anti-Sell

Full-cycle sales ownership: This is not a role for someone focused only on account management, renewals, or relationship maintenance. You will be expected to originate, develop, and close new business.

Proactive business development: You will need to create opportunities through outbound prospecting, disciplined qualification, and relationship development.

Commercial accountability: You will be expected to manage a qualified pipeline and consistently deliver against assigned commercial targets.

Complex stakeholder environments: You will work across business, technical, and executive stakeholders and must be comfortable navigating complex purchasing processes.

Independent execution: This role requires strong organization, judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-moving environment.

Our Research Partners Typically Have

Senior commercial experience: Seven or more years in business development, strategic account management, consultative sales, or quota-carrying commercial roles.

New business ownership: A demonstrated record of independently originating, developing, and closing complex enterprise opportunities.

Executive-level relationship building: Experience building trusted relationships with business, technical, and executive decision-makers and navigating complex client organizations.

Strategic account expansion: A track record of expanding existing accounts through cross-selling, relationship development, and account strategy.

Full-cycle sales leadership: Experience leading discovery, solution positioning, proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure.

Commercial performance: Consistent success delivering against quota, bookings, pipeline, and revenue objectives.

Technical and consultative fluency: The ability to understand complex client challenges, communicate technical solutions, and connect Turing’s capabilities to measurable business value.

Independent leadership: The judgment, organization, and execution discipline to operate independently while influencing internal teams and advancing complex opportunities.

Top-Tier Candidates Will Have

  • Experience working directly with or selling to frontier AI labs.
  • Experience at an AI data, annotation, expert-network, or technical talent company.
  • Experience selling technical talent, AI capabilities, IT consulting, technology solutions, or related business-to-business offerings.

  • Familiarity with software engineering, technical talent requirements, or enterprise technology environments.
  • Experience selling to technical stakeholders and adapting commercial approaches to different technology stacks and client requirements.
  • Demonstrated success expanding existing accounts through cross-selling, relationship development, and strategic account planning.
