The Opportunity

Our client is one of Australia's leading insurance organisations, supporting workers and businesses through insurance, risk management, and return-to-work services. They're looking for a Database Administrator to join their high-performing technology team on a 12-month contract.

In this role, you'll work closely with development teams to manage and optimise Microsoft SQL Server databases, helping keep core business applications running smoothly, securely, and efficiently. What You’ll Do

• Monitor and optimise Microsoft SQL Server databases to ensure performance, stability, and availability.
• Support development teams through SQL script reviews, database changes, and technical advice.
• Investigate and resolve database incidents, performance issues, and service requests.
• Manage database installations, upgrades, patching, backups, restoration, and migrations.
• Support the management of production and non-production database environments.
• Maintain database security, access controls, audit records, and technical documentation.

Key Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in an MSSQL Administrator role.
• Experience writing SQL scripts to manipulate database objects (such as tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, functions, etc).
• Experience monitoring services, planning capacity, and fine-tuning database performance using tools such as Sentry One is a plus.
• Experience managing and deploying database versions through SCM and automation (such as Git, RedGate, Jenkins, PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
• Good English reading and writing skills.

Work setup

• Ho Chi Minh City (Ree Tower, Xom Chieu Ward): Vietnam business hours (8 am – 5 pm) with a hybrid setup (3 days onsite, 2 days remote), following fully onsite during 2-month probation.
