 A leading developer in the global automation market, Pepperl+Fuchs is looking for a hardworking, hands-on, ambitious individual to fill an immediate need for a Vision Systems Engineer in our Vision Machine Technical Division in the Ann Arbor, MI area.

As a Vision Systems Engineer you are responsible for engineering of advanced application and system integration projects, primarily in the automotive manufacturing environment.  The Vision Systems Engineer also responds to technical support requests ranging from pre-sales evaluations to post-sales support and installation of machine vision products used in factory production.

 

Essential Job Functions:

• Designs and implements engineering projects.
• Handles pre-sale evaluation and documentation.
• Demonstrates product for customers at VMT and customer sites.
• Configures and sets up demo equipment at VMT workshops and trade shows.
• Offers pre-sale support with system configuration and quoting.
• Performs post-sale system installations, customer training, technical support and troubleshooting.
• Develops a strong working knowledge of VMT’s machine vision product line.
• Maintains detailed records and prepares communications as needed.
• Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff and the general public.
• Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.

The Background You'll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other closely related technical discipline
• 2-4 years of experience and working knowledge of robotic programming and vison application in a manufacturing environment
• Strong software programming skills, including VB, .NET and C++
• Understanding and troubleshooting of TCP/IP networks
• Need strong mathematics skills
• Attention to detail and the ability to work a variety of shifts
• Willingness to travel up to 70%, some international travel to Europe
• Hands on mentality!
