POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Financial Analyst, Regional Finance will deliver analytical horsepower behind the next evolution of Alterra's Mountain Division operating model. Reporting to the Director of Regional Finance, this role supports the Executive Vice President of the Mountain Division, Resort Presidents, and Resort Finance teams across eight regional ski resorts, including Arapahoe Basin, Stratton, Tremblant, and Solitude. The role owns the regional reporting, benchmarking, forecast review, and capital analysis that turn resort-level data into a clear regional story, so that Regional Finance and resort leadership can focus on what is driving results and what actions will improve them. It is a highly visible seat for a senior analyst who wants to work at the intersection of enterprise finance and resort operations, partner directly with operators, and see the impact of that work on the mountain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Regional Reporting & Performance Storytelling
- Own the production of monthly and in-season (weekly and bi-weekly) regional reporting for the Mountain Division, consolidating resort results into a clear view of performance against budget, forecast, and prior year.
- Build and maintain automated, standardized regional reporting, and partner with the Director of Regional Finance and EVP to develop the narrative and forward actions.
- Develop and distribute standard reporting templates and metric definitions to Resort Finance teams, enabling resort leaders to discuss performance consistently across the Company.
- Prepare the analysis and materials behind the regional story presented by the EVP and Director of Regional Finance in enterprise performance reviews.
Forecasting, Budgeting & Long Range Planning
- Review resort forecast inputs and rest-of-year assumptions, and develop regional risks and opportunities (R&Os) that support the CFO and Executive Leadership Team in managing to budget.
- Support the regional annual budget process, including consolidation of resort plans, alignment to enterprise targets, and early identification of gaps between resort and enterprise expectations.
- Support regional Long Range Plan development, partnering with resort teams to develop a five year financial model, and pressure-test key assumptions and growth drivers.
Regional Performance Management & Benchmarking
- Develop and maintain detailed benchmarking across the regional resorts (visitation, yield, revenue mix, labor, cost per visit, and margin) to identify performance gaps and best practices.
- Proactively analyze regional results to identify growth initiatives and cost efficiencies, and elevate strong ideas from individual resorts for adoption across the region.
- Partner with the Director of Regional Finance to drive accountability of each resort to its financial results.
Capital Planning & Investment Analysis
- Support the prioritization of Major Maintenance and Growth capital requests for the region based on impact and return, as an input to enterprise capital prioritization.
- Partner with resort teams to build and review ROI analyses and business cases, ensuring they are accurate, defensible, and well supported.
- Lead post-mortem analysis and measurement of key investments (capex, M&A, and new business opportunities) to inform future capital decisions.
Resort Finance Partnership
Serve as a day-to-day analytical resource and thought partner to Resort Finance teams, providing feedback on deliverables, models, and how results are presented to resort leadership.
- Deliver ad-hoc analysis for the EVP and Resort Presidents, and build a library of strong example analyses that raises the quality of resort finance partnership.
- Contribute to the regional finance network through best-practice sharing, including support of an annual pre-season regional finance gathering.
- Identify and drive initiatives to continuously improve and streamline regional finance processes.
- Travel to regional resorts periodically to build relationships with resort leadership and finance teams (estimated 10% to 20%).
COMPETENCIES & JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and executive presence skills
- Ability to translate complex operational and financial data into a concise story with clear, actionable recommendations
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills (forecasting, ROI and NPV analysis, scenario planning); experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and reporting automation strongly preferred

- Highly organized self-starter who can manage multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines across resorts, particularly during the in-season reporting cadence
- Deep curiosity and passion for understanding the drivers of resort performance with a focus on creating shareholder value
