Description
Lincoln Parks and Recreation is hiring a School Community Coordinator to lead the Community Learning Center (CLC) initiative at Belmont Elementary School. This is a dynamic, people-centered role focused on building strong connections between students, families, educators, and community partners. We are seeking an experienced leader who can balance relationship-building with organized, effective program execution.
What You’ll Do
This role blends systems-level administrative leadership with direct service, ensuring you stay connected to students while coordinating high-impact programs.
• Collaborate with Leaders: Work with the school principal, CLC director, Parks and Recreation leadership, and other stakeholders to align programs with school and community goals in a way that balances relationship-building with accomplishing results.
• Coordinate Programs: Lead out-of-school time activities such as clubs, sports, and academic enrichment opportunities while managing multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
• Engage Families: Create meaningful ways for families and neighborhood residents to get involved and have a voice in decision-making.
• Manage Teams: Supervise staff, volunteers, and partners to ensure high quality programming through organized communication, clear expectations, consistent follow-through, and calm, confident leadership.
• Oversee Budgets and Reporting: Manage fiscal responsibilities, ensure policy compliance, and use data to guide improvements.
• Build Partnerships: Serve as a connector between the school, recreation center, and community organizations demonstrating passion for community building, service, and collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by college-level coursework in recreation, physical education or related field plus six months of experience working with people in all age groups in a recreational setting involving program and staff supervision; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; frequent evenings and some weekends for special events and community meetings
