The role
As the Business Process Expert (BPE) – Forecast-to-Plan, you will serve as the definitive source of knowledge, techniques, and functional expertise for the end-to-end planning lifecycle. Reporting to the Business Process Owner, the BPE is responsible for the hands-on mastery of complex planning tasks, providing deep technical guidance to both internal teams and the Third-Party Service Provider (3PSP).
The role focuses on the functional "intelligence" of the F2P process—acting as the ultimate troubleshooter for planning logic, a master of the technical tech-stack (SAP IBP/Kinaxis/S4 HANA), and the guardian of process documentation. The BPE ensures that the granular execution of demand forecasting, supply planning, and inventory management remains best-in-class across local and global contexts.
What you'll be responsible for
echnical Knowledge Leadership
- Functional Authority: Act as the primary point of contact for complex queries regarding F2P methodologies, including statistical forecasting, safety stock logic, and capacity planning.
- Methodology Governance: Ensure that the 3PSP applies the correct planning techniques and logic at the keystroke level, maintaining alignment with Global Process Owner (GPO) standards.
Advanced Troubleshooting & Support
- Complex Issue Resolution: Address and resolve high-level technical bottlenecks in the planning cycle, such as systemic forecast biases, integration errors between ERP and planning tools, or incorrect MRP logic.
- Escalation Support: Support the Operations Lead by providing technical evidence and solutions for escalations involving the 3PSP's performance or system output accuracy.
Process Documentation & Best Practices
- Definitive Documentation: Create, validate, and maintain high-fidelity Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Desktop Procedures (DTPs) that capture the intricate steps of the regional F2P process.
- Technique Optimization: Continuously refine planning techniques (e.g., fine-tuning forecasting algorithms or lead-time parameters) to improve regional accuracy and efficiency.
System & Tool Mastery (Super-User)
- Tool Advocacy: Act as the "Super-User" for SAP S/4HANA and advanced planning platforms (e.g., SAP IBP, Kinaxis), ensuring the full suite of features is being utilized to drive automation.
- System Testing: Lead the functional design and testing (UAT) for system enhancements, ensuring the technical architecture supports the practical needs of the EMEA supply chain.
Knowledge Transfer & Capability Building
- Mentorship: Lead the technical onboarding and continuous upskilling of the 3PSP staff and internal team members to ensure a high level of planning competency.
- Knowledge Management: Capture and codify local market nuances into the global knowledge base, preventing "knowledge silos" within the region.
Root Cause Analysis & Data Integrity
- Deep-Dive Diagnostics: Perform forensic analysis on F2P KPI misses (e.g., significant forecast bias or OTIF failures) to determine if the cause is technical, data-driven, or procedural.
- Master Data Hygiene: Provide expert guidance on the maintenance of critical planning master data to ensure the integrity of the automated planning output.
We're looking for someone who
Experiences & Qualifications
- University degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a highly analytical field.
- 12+ years of experience in Supply Chain planning, specifically within the Forecast-to-Plan (F2P) domain.
- Direct, "in-system" experience with SAP S/4HANA and at least one major planning tool (SAP IBP, Kinaxis, or OMP) is mandatory.
- Proven experience acting as a definitive source of knowledge or a functional lead in a Global Business Services (GBS) or shared services environment.
- Exceptional ability to dissect complex datasets and translate them into actionable planning techniques.
- Experience working with 3PSPs, with the ability to audit and correct technical execution at the keystroke level.
