DIRECTOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT - Infrastructure & Asset Management
SIMCO provides engineering services and solutions to support management, durability, and long-term performance of civil infrastructure. SIMCO works with owners, operators, contractors, and engineering firms to help them extend the service life of structures while minimizing risk, managing lifecycle costs, meeting compliance requirements, and improving the performance and longevity of their assets. In the context of international growth, SIMCO is looking for a Director of Business Development for the Middle East market.
This strategic and dynamic position is aimed at an experienced civil infrastructure professional capable of working independently in a highly collaborative environment. The role will include developing a structured approach and sales plan for the territory which is efficient and aimed at results. Acting as SIMCO’s main representative in the region, the individual will develop the market, identify opportunities, manage pursuits, and drive customer commitments in a demanding and complex territory.
The role requires the ability to build relationships at both the project and asset-owner level, and to expand engagements from traditional engineering scopes into broader lifecycle, risk, and asset management programs. A critical aspect of this role is the ability to operate effectively within client Asset Management environments, engaging across engineering, operations, and decision-making functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Development and Management
- Develop and execute a structured market development strategy across the Middle East and North Africa
- Identify, qualify and target owners and operators with significant civil infrastructure portfolios (ports, utilities, industrial facilities, transportation, and energy)
- Build and maintain a structured pipeline
- Drive revenue growth and ensure achievement of regional objectives
Commercial Approach
- Understand customer needs beyond individual projects, including:
- Asset condition and performance
- Lifecycle cost and investment planning
- Risk management and compliance requirements.
- Translate needs into structured technical and commercial approaches
- Position SIMCO’s services as part of a broader solution supporting infrastructure management and lifecycle decision-making
- Prepare and present strong commercial proposals
- Manage long sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and decision levels
Organization and Autonomy
- Identify pathways to scale from project-level work to portfolio-level programs
- Plan and manage activities independently
- Maintain CRM tracking and pipeline visibility
- Apply sales processes with discipline
- Manage multiple complex opportunities
Representation and Influence
- Represent SIMCO with key stakeholders, including asset owners, engineering leaders, and operational teams
- Develop strategic business relationships
- Understand client organizational structures and decision-making processes
- Participate in events and conferences
- Promote SIMCO expertise in the region
Internal Collaboration
- Work with remote engineering and technical teams across multiple regions
- Ensure quality of information flow between client needs and proposal development
