Rockport Inn and Suites located in charming Rockport, MA has an opening for Chief Engineer to support it's daily operation. As our team and client base have grown, we’ve recognized the need for a skilled, hands-on engineering leader who can work across our property while supporting the team already in place. This role is designed for someone who values teamwork, jumps in wherever help is needed, and enjoys keeping things running at their absolute best! Simply put, if you are a hands-on maintenance leader, who has a hotel background, this might be the perfect position for you!
Overall Summary of Position:
The Chief Engineer will spend time building strong relationships with our teams, our vendors while supporting their work, and helping ensure a consistent and high-quality engineering operation. This position requires hands-on work at with a mechanical and systems skill set in all trades.
Requirements
We’re looking for candidates who have the following qualifications:
- Experience as a Chief Engineer, or similar senior engineering role, ideally in hospitality or a comparable setting.
- Strong hands-on technical skills, including experience with HVAC, outside cooling tower set up, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical and other building systems.
- Someone who can comfortably move (and drive) between properties, prioritize their workload, and stay organized /make a list of daily tasks and prioritize the least number of OOO rooms and allowing sell out at each hotel.
- A clear, respectful communicator who enjoys working with a variety of people and coaching others.
- A self-starter with a strong sense of integrity, responsibility, and follow-through.
- Usage of Quore and prioritizing daily tasks between hotels and support in-hotel efforts to better daily operations and ensure guest satisfaction.
- This is not a Monday through Friday 9am-5pm position. Flexibility in scheduling to meet the demands of our 24/7, 365 operation is key.
- the ability to take and respond to "after hours" calls as they come up
