Transfer Operator
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, safety-driven Transfer Operator to manage the safe and efficient transfer of materials from railcars (hopper cars) to storage silos. If you enjoy hands-on work, possess high quality standards, and take pride in precise bulk material handling, apply today!
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Transfer: Safely connect/disconnect cargo hoses and operate bulk transfer equipment according to manuals and supervisor instructions.
- Rail Yard Safety: Set up and monitor yard safety devices, including blue flag signs and wheel chocks.
- Facility Maintenance: Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized; perform basic maintenance and general labor tasks as assigned.
- Safety & Compliance: Execute all tasks in strict accordance with site safety manuals, Quality Manuals, and OSHA regulations.
Requirements:
- Certification: Must pass the client General Knowledge Exam for transfer equipment upon hire.
- Physical & Environmental Capability: Able to lift up to 55 lbs, climb stairs/heights, kneel for short periods, and work in both indoor/outdoor weather conditions.
- Punctuality & Schedule: Strict on-time attendance (ready 5 minutes before shift start) with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Core Skills: Fluent in English (read, write, speak); proficient in basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide); able to work independently with minimal supervision.
