About the Role

This position is responsible for ensuring the calibration, traceability, reliability, and compliance of laboratory equipment used for HW Environmental validation testing. The role supports the operation of ISO/IEC 17025 aligned laboratory systems by managing calibration programs, measurement systems, accredited suppliers, metrological traceability, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Calibration Engineer works closely with Validation Engineering, Technicians, Assurance, TTR engineer, Purchasing, and external calibration providers to ensure equipment availability, measurement integrity, and compliance with customer, regulatory, and corporate requirements.

This position has no direct reports.

What You Will Do

  • Manage the laboratory calibration program for HW Environmental validation equipment.
  • Maintain calibration schedules and ensure zero overdue calibrations for critical equipment.
  • Evaluate and approve calibration suppliers based on technical competence, scope accreditation, uncertainty capabilities, performance, and traceability requirements.
  • Review calibration certificates to verify compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, measurement uncertainty, and traceability documentation.
  • Support equipment qualification, preventive maintenance, and validation activities.
  • Support environmental chamber calibrations following internal procedures and standards.
  • Develop and maintain laboratory procedures, work instructions, calibration methods, and technical records.
  • Support uncertainty evaluations and support measurement system assessments.
  • Analyze calibration results, identify trends, and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and support closure of audit findings.
  • Conduct root cause investigations related to measurement discrepancies, equipment failures, or non-conforming work.
  • Generate and maintain calibration KPIs, reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
  •  Support laboratory 6S, and EHS initiatives.
  • Following Harman competencies for everyday performance (Leadership, Change Orientation, Collaboration, Judgement, and Results Driven)
  • Follow company principles, policies and requirements related to EHS (including ISO/OHSAS certification, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) 
  • Responsible for performing other tasks as business needs require or as assigned by management.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial, Electronics, or related field) Physics, Metrology or Applied Sciences
  • 3+ years of experience in:
  • Calibration laboratories
  • Metrology
  • ISO/IEC 17025 accredited environments
  • Environmental, reliability, or validation laboratories
  • Audit participation (Internal or External)
  • Calibration management software
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
  • Directriz DKD-R 5-7, IEC 60068-3-5
  • Euramet cg-20, VIM,  ILAC G8 2019.
  • VIM (International Vocabulary of Metrology)
  • Metrological traceability principles
  • Measurement of uncertainty concepts
  • Statistical analysis and MSA principles
  • Competent computer skills, Excel, web system and Power Bi.
  • Proven ability to be flexible, prioritize and manage projects, as well as solve problems in a timely manner while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • English proficiency (written & verbal)

  • ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT)
  • Metrology or Measurement Science certifications
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
