Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Access Operations in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a critical utilities location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a professional environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control policies, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, process visitor and contractor entries, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned facilities, entry points, and perimeter areas to help identify unauthorized access, unusual activity, and security-related concerns.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and emergency responders, providing clear information and following established reporting procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• Be 21 years of age or older.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
