Overview

Responsible for a wide variety of activities and procedures throughout our production process. This position is part of a team tasked with goals of maximizing safety, quality, and productivity with the casting team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate metallurgy activities with fellow metallurgists, engineers, and shift supervisors
• Work with operators to teach steelmaking processes and provide technical support
• Statistical analysis of process and operator feedback
• Provide continuous product and process improvement
• Evaluate new process technologies
• Coordinate with suppliers and optimize cost
• Assist with coordination of ISO/IATF activities for department
• Develop corrective and preventative actions ·
• Become proficient with ELC, JSA, QWI and Quality systems
• Support and develop safety improvements within the process

 

Qualifications

Required

 

• BS degree or equivalent in Metallurgy, Material Science or related engineering field
• Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work without supervision
