Responsible for a wide variety of activities and procedures throughout our production process. This position is part of a team tasked with goals of maximizing safety, quality, and productivity with the casting team.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate metallurgy activities with fellow metallurgists, engineers, and shift supervisors
- Work with operators to teach steelmaking processes and provide technical support
- Statistical analysis of process and operator feedback
- Provide continuous product and process improvement
- Evaluate new process technologies
- Coordinate with suppliers and optimize cost
- Assist with coordination of ISO/IATF activities for department
- Develop corrective and preventative actions ·
- Become proficient with ELC, JSA, QWI and Quality systems
- Support and develop safety improvements within the process
Qualifications
Required
- BS degree or equivalent in Metallurgy, Material Science or related engineering field
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work without supervision
