10Position Title: Field Finance specialist
Contract type: Full time, open-ended
Report to: Finance Manager
This role is crucial for ensuring comprehensive compliance with WVIM policies, local laws, accounting standards, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls. The successful candidate will drive commercial thinking, provide valuable analysis and recommendations, and ensure adherence to all policies, procedures, local laws, and donor requirements. This position supports proactive project/program financial management, internal and external audits, and educates the organization to maintain high compliance levels and mitigate risks. Moreover, the role involves leading and championing policy determination, procedure, and process development for continuous improvement.
Financial Review and Compliance 30%
• Fully responsible for reviewing financial transactions and reports for accuracy and compliance with WV policies, local laws, and donor requirements.
• Ensure all transactions are processed with complete documentation and as per policy.
• Report any violation of financial policies to the AP manager or relevant management level.
• Ensure that AP attains an acceptable risk rating on Finance Audit by ensuring adherence to WV policies.
• Verify all documents provided by partners, including CBOs, NGOs, or government entities receiving funding from WV.
• Secure adequate documentation in all financial transactions, including preparation and documentation of vouchers for cash disbursements.
Budgeting and Financial Monitoring 30%
• Contribute to preparing the AP budget and monitor AP expenses against the approved budget and chart of accounts.
• Provide accurate cash position of the AP to the Manager for funding requests and payment decisions.
• Conduct regular monitoring of financial documents, beneficiaries, and vendors.
Reporting 10%
• Prepare timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and statutory financial reports in consultation with the AP/Project Manager.
• Prepare and send all monthly required reports to Finance and respective managers within the deadline.
Training and Advisory 20%
• Conduct orientation and refreshment sessions to train and coach field staff on WV financial policies and procedures.
• Provide financial advice, recommendations, and analysis to the AP manager for decision-making.
• Participate in the process of continuous learning of field staff on DPA, program quality, humanitarian action and development aspects.
• Contribute and support NO financial aspects and functions and learn continuously
Stakeholder Management 10%
Thoroughly comprehend the organization’s strategic objectives and effectively communicate them in a clear and meaningful manner.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification
• Graduate degree with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or any relevant degree.
• Certified Public Accountant is preferred
• If experience in the field of Finance, commercial institutions or an NGO in the area of financial management/ accounting is preferred
• The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
• Require knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practical knowledge of financial systems, internal controls and procedures.
• Strong inter-personal, organizational communication skills
• Intermediate level of English would be an advantage
