Primary Responsibilities
The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for the successful operations of the facility and the warehouse equipment. The position is responsible for building and warehouse equipment upkeep. This position will lead and manage the maintenance,and security teams within the distribution center.
Essential Functions
DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans, budgets, and schedules facility maintenance and modifications, including cost estimates/follow-up with all invoices regarding care.
- Implement new processes to increase efficiencies.
- Ensure company sponsored safety programs are administered correctly according to best practices.
- Schedule and assign duties for PIT equipment repair and PMs, facility maintenance, major or minor building projects, and building security.
- Responsible for providing information and support to a wide variety of users.
- Responsible for technology support for the warehouse systems and IT equipment.
- Respond to emergency maintenance request as required. Troubleshoot issues to determine cause and solution.
- Support the day-to-day functionality, efficiency, and operational maintenance for staff needs.
- Coordinates team projects and provides direction and guidance to others when necessary.
- Maintain and actively contribute to the knowledge base that improves the effectiveness of the team.
- Assist in initiating planned maintenance programs for company facilities and equipment.
- Manage the receiving function for all facilities and maintenance materials.
- Manage preventive maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Electrical, OPEX System (Perfect Pick System) and Glycol Systems
- Oversees parking lots, outside receiving areas, and public access, and security gates.
- Manages and reviews all service contracts and evaluates the quality of work and services.
- Conducts and documents facility inspections.
- Assesses, evaluates, coaches, and counsels direct reports. Assist in interviewing/hiring new employees.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate well with internal and external customers and management.
- Ability to efficiently work independent of direct supervision.
- Ability to follow safe working practices, as instructed.
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Facility and maintenance experience in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to work with outside vendors and contractors.
- Must be able to time manage, communicate, have attention to detail, problem solve and be team orientated and a mentor.
- Some weekend and evening work required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field. In Lieu of a degree, four to eight (4-8) years of relevant experience may suffice.
- Two or more years of supervisory positions directing a multifunctional team.
- Preferred professional certifications: HVAC, CFM, NEC, PSP.
