IVRS (Integration, Verification, Release and Support) is a department within Grid Integration Modular Advanced Control HVDC (GI MACH), working with securing the quality of the MACH platform, the brain of the HVDC station. We are responsible for verification of the MACH Platform towards high level requirements and for releasing the platform to our customers.

IVRS is developing a robust CI/CD pipeline to revolutionize delivery of the MACH platform in an HVDC project. Join the GI MACH team to help build a next-generation data platform that unifies data from diverse sources, creating a single source of truth for code development, design, and manufacturing.

IVRS is looking for a Test Automation Engineer to develop and maintain environment, framework and tools to allow automated test suites to be developed and performed. As a test automation engineer you will play an important role in the transformation of GI MACH manual software deliveries to automated CI/CD pipelines.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test framework and tools, primarily using Azure DevOps environment. Development in Python and working with various test equipment tools.
  • Support testers with automation in new test setups, development of new testcases and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with architect, development and test teams to understand test requirements, create suitable test automation solutions and improve testability.
  • Execute automated tests, analyze results, and report defects accurately and efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, develop new automation solutions, and continuously improve existing test automation processes.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure testability, maintainability, and quality of automated tests.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and frequent software releases.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry’s best practices and emerging technologies in test automation.
  • Document test automation processes, frameworks, and results clearly and concisely.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python.
  • Experience in test automation and test automation frameworks, preferably with both hardware and software. e.g testing of embedded systems and Hardware-In-Loop (HIL) testing
  • Experience of software development following SOLID object-oriented design principles is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong English communication skills, Swedish is advantage.
