The Position:
AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Technical Training Specialist (Training Team-Video Editor)-Journeyman to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. The salary range of this position is $78,200.00 - $112,400.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Position Background:
The Simulation Support Branch is a government organization comprised of eleven teams that are dedicated to supporting warfighter training through enterprise-scale platform engineering and systems integration; test and evaluation (T&E); data analysis; live, virtual and constructive (LVC); research and development (R&D) activities for DoD agencies and its international partners. The teams include Finance, Development Operations, Configuration Management, Facilities Support (Pax River, Holly 3, and Orlando), Training, System Support, Business Operations, Information Technology (IT), Information Assurance (IA), Project Support Team (PST), and Interface Development Team (IDT). All processes and deliverables are government owned, developed and managed.
A typical day as a Technical Training Specialist (Training Team-Video Editor)-Journeyman may include:
- Supports the Battlespace Training Team
- Produces training videos by planning, scripting, editing, and finalizing content in partnership with SMEs and engineers
- Interfaces with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and software engineers
- Coordinates bi-weekly internal training sessions, assists with help desk inquiries, and supports instructor-led training
- Coordinates instructor-led training by opening registration, compiling rosters, updating training material, coordinating instructors, attending/assisting with training, developing follow-up material (course surveys, certificates, etc.), and interfacing with customers/students
- Coordinates internal training coordination by interfacing with internal team members (engineers, SMEs, support personnel, etc.) to identify training gaps, identifying potential teachers, and coordinating the bi-weekly training sessions
- Assists with help desk inquiries by tracking and monitoring RFIs and responding to emails
Must-haves:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, scientific, or business discipline OR Associate’s Degree with 4 years of additional work experience (7 years total) OR HS Diploma/Equivalent with 6 years of additional work experience (9 years total)
- Degree obtained from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
- 3 years of relevant work experience
- 3 years of professional experience with advanced video editing skills (Adobe Premiere Pro required, After Effects, Audition, or similar tools)
- The ability to storyboard, script, and produce engaging training videos
- Strong visual design sense
- The ability to simplify technical topics through video
- Experience with recording voiceovers
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint)
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro)
- Strong communication, documentation, organization, attention to detail, and customer service skills
- Minimum clearance required to apply (candidates who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be considered): N/A
- Current clearance required upon onboarding: DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Additional Accesses: The ability to obtain and maintain the DoD security clearance eligibility and/or additional security access requirements necessary to perform the duties of the position, as required by the contract
Desired Skills:
- Experience with motion graphics/animation
- Experience with audio editing/clean up and voiceovers
- Excellent verbal communication
- Experience using NAVAIR Wiki and Fusion Chat
- Familiarity with military aviation
- Experience leading training courses virtually
- Experience with eLearning tools (Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia, etc.)

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:
The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
