Job Description:

This position represents the face of Intermountain Healthcare to customers, patients, and caregivers, as the parking valet is often the first point of contact for anyone entering and/or exiting the hospital. This position is responsible for taking care of the customer’s needs by providing and delivering professional, helpful, and high-quality service. The job will require working outside in severe weather, including wind, rain, snow and extreme heat.

Essential Functions

As a Valet / Parking Attendant you need to know how to:

  • Be the first and last point of contact to St. Vincent Healthcare, greeting everyone coming and leaving the organization; offering assistance as needed, maintaining cleanliness of outdoor entrance area as well as inside the lobby; and providing valet parking to our guests
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors and staff
  • Provide information, directions, wheelchair assistance, and entering and exiting vehicle assistance
  • Keep exterior and interior entrance areas clean, safe and welcoming. Pick up trash as needed, sweep and/or mop entrances, update reading materials, etc., provide snow removal and ice-melt during winter months
  • Responsible for safely valet parking the vehicles of patients and visitors
  • Organize key/number systems
  • Cross-trains with shuttle and guest services, filling in as needed

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Montana driver's license
  • Proven ability to drive vehicles with manual transmissions
  • Ability to show proof of insurability and maintains a clean driving record annually

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read license plates, and be able to assess patient/visitor needs.
  • Frequent interactions with patients/visitors require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Expected to transport patients/visitors, when needed, to various locations within the hospital.
  • Expected to drive a variety of vehicles which require sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
