Mold Maintenance Technician (die prep)
- Wages: $20 - $24, starting wages based on experience
- Days of Work: Monday - Friday
- Hours of Work: 7am - 3pm
- Eligible for $250 monthly bonus based on attendance and safety

Requirements
Primary Functions
Perform tasks related to preparation of tooling for permanent mold production, including disassembly, review, prep, clean and repair if necessary.
Duties and Overall Responsibilities
- Mold preparation including
- Disassembly
- Review of loose piece and slide components if applicable
- Review of ejection system, including ejection pin removal, cleaning, repair and replacements
- Review general conditions of partings and radius areas
- Review condition of gate/sprues
- Examine chilling lines, circuits, blocks for repair or replacement
- Review last production piece for possible mold polishing and repair
- Mold cleaning, including removal of metal and blasting
- Verify upon reassembly that tooling is run ready
- Perform general fabrication, repair or replacement of furnace tools, ladles, intermediate tubes and other production support equipment
- Perform repair or minor modifications using machining operations and bench work on tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, etc. with the use of dimensional prints or models overseen by Engineering
- Perform repair on tooling in production as needed on the floor
- Fabrication of permanent or temporary components, fixtures, jigs, etc
- Maintain die prep equipment in good working condition
- Support of production and maintenance staff in repair or maintenance of production equipment as necessary
- Assume responsibility for the quality of workmanship, dimensional accuracy and efficient mechanical operations of production tools, in addition to high standards in the areas of safety and housekeeping
- Assist in other maintenance or fabrication tasks on casting tooling or equipment as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements for this position require continuous standing and intermittent walking, bending, sitting, and lifting of parts that may at times be in excess of 50 pounds. Requires the ability to operate various material-handling equipment making lifts exceeding 3,000 pounds. Requires the use of hand tools and power tools on a regular basis. Requires the ability to successfully complete respirator testing to be certified to operate the blast booth. The Mold Maintenance Technician should have the physical and mental ability to perform the above necessary job functions while maintaining an exemplary safety record.
Skills and Experience
- Mechanical aptitude required
- Technical skills needed, with the ability to use hand tools and power tools
- Ability to take things apart and put them back together
- Proficient use of measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, scales, etc
- Training and experience in welding and metal fabrication preferred
- Computer literacy preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year experience working in a manufacturing environment
