About the Role

Responsible for providing application development and support services to meet AIA's business needs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Java/J2EE software architectures and systems for insurance business applications.
• Write Design Specification and Unit Test documents.
• Communicate with business users to develop requirements and plans and provide technical solutions.
• Troubleshooting for the existing Group Life System and ensure their stability.
• Hands on systems upgrade & testing.
• Lead vendor team in the area of software engineering to provide coaching and mentoring and support them to complete project tasks as required
• Engage in or lead project through the whole project lifecycle.
• Provide timely, accurate and detailed reports and presentations.
• Manage IT internal projects to optimize system functionality and increase system stability.
• Design, institutionalize, and continuously optimize end-to-end software delivery processes — deeply aligned with insurance business cycles and compliance mandates.
• Provide technical support to end user as required.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Bachelor in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years working experiences in life insurance technology, with at least 2 years focused exclusively on group insurance, health insurance, corporate benefits, or employee welfare platforms.
• Hands-on experience designing or implementing enterprise-grade insurance platforms (e.g., eBaoTech, Sino-soft), with strong command of: microservices, business rules engines, AI for claims automation, and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Professional experiences in developing software systems from requirement specifications, requirements flow-down, detailed design, implementation, and verification/validation.
• Deep operational knowledge of group insurance workflows: employer-side (plan configuration, premium allocation), employee-side (benefits selection, health service activation, self-service claims), and service-side (TPA coordination, underwriting/claims review, health program fulfillment).
• Good knowledge in object oriented programming, design pattern, data structure, code performance profiling and optimization.
• Solid experience on Java, Spring MVC, RESTful, iBatis, Hibernate, Java Scripts, HTML5, and etc.
• Project management experiences including project requirements definition, plan development, progress monitoring and technology transitions to customers.
• Be familiar to use SQL and Database design.
• PMP certification or MBA background is preferred.
• Be familiar with Sinosoft or eBaotech Group Core system is preferred.
• Be familiar with Policy Service, Premium Renewal, Billing Generation, Maturity related business is preferred.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; innovative strategic and technical thinker; high energy; team player with good adaptability.
• Good technical writing, presentation, project management and communication skills in English.
