The Role
At ALS, we encourage you to dream big.
When you join ALS, you become part of a global leader in testing, inspection and certification services. Operating in more than 65 countries, we deliver high-quality analytical, inspection and technical services that help our clients make informed decisions with confidence.
Within our Minerals, Metallurgy and Technical Services (MPTS) business, we support the mining and mineral exploration industry through innovative laboratory solutions, specialist technical expertise and trusted customer partnerships.
We are seeking commercially driven and naturally curious business development professionals to support the continued growth of our MPTS business across Asia. We welcome candidates with different combinations of commercial, technical, market development and client relationship experience.
The successful candidate will be proactive, self-motivated and confident in identifying opportunities, developing relationships and engaging with clients, industry stakeholders and ALS technical teams. They will use meaningful conversations, market knowledge and commercial insight to understand customer needs and develop sustainable growth opportunities.
This is a client-facing role requiring the ability to build credibility quickly, ask insightful questions and connect customers with the right ALS capabilities. Depending on experience and regional business needs, the role may focus on new business acquisition, strategic account development, dormant account reactivation, market intelligence, or promotion of specific ALS services.
Experience within mining, mineral exploration, metallurgy, mineral processing, geology, mineralogy, drilling, laboratory services or another relevant technical industry would be highly advantageous. Above all, we are looking for commercial drive, curiosity and strong relationship-building capabilities.
Excellent English communication skills are required. Additional Asian language skills and experience working across different Asian markets and cultures would be advantageous.

- Follow up quotations and tenders in a timely and structured manner, analysing outcomes to improve conversion rates.
- Represent ALS at conferences, exhibitions, technical forums, networking events and client meetings.
- Coordinate technical seminars, workshops and client engagement events with ALS subject matter experts.
