The starting pay for this position is $18.30/hr. with a shift increase for second and third shift. We have open positions for third shift.

Job Description:
To ensure pork bellies receive the right amount of smoke and are cooked to proper temperature per HACCP and USDA guidelines. This position involves changes in temperature. The smoker keeps the smoke generators full of sawdust, monitors moisture content and watches for sparks and fires. Also monitors air vents to ensure they are open, clear and in good working order. Cleans smoke generators as needed and check bellies on an hourly basis for proper smoke color. The pushers unload and load coolers, smokehouses, and brine chill as needed. Pushers are only to push 4 trees at a time and communicate any rail or switch problems to management. The washer is responsible for washing the smokehouse using approved chemicals and must use all required personal protective equipment. Required to learn all positions in smokehouse.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor.
Perform general housekeeping duties in the department.
Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements
Perform all positions of rotation, if applicable.
Handle raw or smoked bacon.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be willing to work overtime and/or weekends as needed with occasional Sundays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Standing, walking, bending, squatting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are required in all areas.
Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently.
Ability to flex/grip with wrist/hands repetitively.
Must be able to push/pull/lift 40 lbs. or more if required.
Must be able to stand 8-10 hours on hard floors.
Must be able to work in a cold, damp or hot and humid environment that may have slippery walking surfaces.
