Job Summary
The Accounting Systems Manager – Workday Finance serves as a key leader in the administration, enhancement, and strategic direction of the organization's financial systems, with a primary focus on Workday Finance. This role partners with internal stakeholders across Accounting, Finance, IT, and business operations to analyze problems and data, develop requirements for technology solutions, and resolve issues with an eye toward continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude, deep accounting knowledge, and proven critical thinking skills, with direct experience in Workday Financials and a passion for process improvement.
Responsibilities
Lead the administration, configuration, and governance of Workday Finance, including security and business process frameworks
Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for Workday Finance, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Financial Close
Manage and develop a team of Accounting Systems Analysts by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a high-performing, accountable team environment.
Partner with Accounting, Finance, and IT stakeholders to analyze business problems, gather requirements, and deliver scalable Workday Finance solutions
Oversee the development of business requirements, functional specifications, test plans, and training documentation for Workday Finance projects
Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and coordinate resolutions with IT or Workday as appropriate
Oversee the monitoring of system interfaces, integrations, and data flows between Workday Finance and upstream/downstream systems to ensure accuracy, timelines, and completeness
Analyze current accounting processes and identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and system enhancements within Workday
Lead and support system upgrades, Workday bi-annual releases, new module implementations, and integrations; manage regression testing and change communication
Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure system changes meet functional and accounting requirements
Ensure that standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, and workflows are created and maintained
Support Workday data governance processes and ensure data integrity across the financial system ecosystem
Requirements
Strong understanding of Workday Finance configuration, including business process design, security roles, and reporting
Deep knowledge of accounting processes including GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, and financial close cycles
Familiarity with system integrations, API concepts, ETL processes, and change management practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on continuous improvement
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across both business and technical roles
Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities while meeting deadlines and producing meaningful deliverables
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, information systems, or related field
5+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or Financial Systems roles
Direct experience with Workday Finance in a systems configuration, or functional analyst capacity
Experience with ERP or financial systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
Familiarity with financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and core accounting principles
Preferred Qualifications
Workday certification or direct experience with Workday Financials modules (e.g., Accounting Center, Financial Accounting, Procurement)
Prior involvement in ERP implementations or large-scale financial systems projects
Prior management experience, preferably in a remote environment
CPA, CMA, or equivalent accounting certification
Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks

Pay Details:
The base compensation range for this position is $113,000 - $153,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
