About the Team

The Engineering and Delivery Team, which sits within Technology at hummgroup, are forming cross functional delivery teams and embarking on a journey to follow Agile delivery practices. We are a relatively flat organisational structure, and as a member of the team you are accountable for end-to end responsibility for your area of focus and will need to be flexible and able to take on additional and/or different accountabilities as required.

About You …

We are looking for a Senior Salesforce Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll play a key hands on role in building and evolving Salesforce solutions across multiple business areas. You will work closely with product managers, architects, and engineering leads to deliver robust, scalable, and high-quality capabilities on the Salesforce platform.

What Does An Average Day Look Like?

  • Applying knowledge of Q2 loan servicing systems or similar lending platforms.
  • Writing Apex code, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and SOQL queries.
  • Building and supporting integrations using Salesforce APIs.
  • Collaborating with product and technical teams to deliver business features.
  • Participating in Agile ceremonies and sprint delivery.
  • Conducting code reviews and contributing to platform improvements.
  • Supporting deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and troubleshooting.
  • Engaging in platform maintenance, issue triage, and Level 3 support.
  • Sharing knowledge with peers and continuously improving code quality.

Key responsibilities:

Salesforce Development:

  • Build and maintain robust, scalable components and integrations using Apex, LWC, and Flow.
  • Platform Standards & Quality: Follow and promote Salesforce best practices for performance, security, and maintainability.
  • CI/CD & DevOps: Support version control, automated deployments, and quality pipelines using Git and SFDX.
  • System Integration: Develop and manage integrations with external platforms using REST/SOAP APIs.

Production Support:

  • Diagnose and resolve platform issues, contributing to reliable system performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements across tooling, process, and architecture.
  • Supporting the solution: With the squad, provide Level 3 support for the capabilities that are owned by the squad ensuring high availability and customer satisfaction.
  • Owning relationships: Build and own working relationships with the software vendors for key technology partnerships interacting with the squad.

We’re also looking for someone who also has:

  • Strong hands-on Salesforce development experience (Apex, LWC, Triggers, SOQL/SOSL).
  • A solid understanding of the Salesforce platform’s architecture and limits.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling, Git, SFDX, and deployment strategies.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a delivery mindset.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
  • A proactive approach to troubleshooting, testing, and documentation.
  • Varied and significant experience of multiple organisations, transformation initiatives, major programs and technologies.
  • The number of years is not what matters, but you should have experienced a wide range of successes, failures and growth opportunities that you can call upon as a seasoned engineer.
  • Significant experience delivering digital first capabilities, products and offerings to market.

Preferred experience and quals:

  • Background in finance or banking would be highly regarded
  • Tertiary or vocational qualification that is relevant to software development (beneficial).
  • Experience with Q2 lending managed package
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Best Practices
  • Extensive development experience using Apex, Triggers, Classes and Lightning Web Components and API Web Services.
  • Strong understanding of CI/C
