What Value This Role Will Bring 

As the Machinist Lead for DMC's CNC Turning Center, you will serve as the subject matter expert for turning operations, supporting daily production execution while leading by example on the shop floor. This role is responsible for troubleshooting machining challenges, optimizing processes, conducting first article inspections, and providing technical guidance to machinists to ensure quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery of precision components.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily workflow within the CNC Turning Center, supporting production priorities and serving as the first point of escalation for machining issues
• Set up and operate CNC turning centers, including multi-axis and live-tooling machines
• Program, edit, troubleshoot, and optimize turning programs using G and M code
• Conduct first article inspections and verify conformance to print specifications and quality requirements
• Select and manage inserts, boring bars, and cutting tools to maximize productivity and tool life
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to improve processes, resolve manufacturing challenges, and drive continuous improvement
• Hold tight diameter, length, and surface finish tolerances across a variety of materials
• Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMM equipment as required
• Lead shift handoff communication and help ensure materials, tooling, and equipment are available for production
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes or turning centers
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications
• Working knowledge of G and M code programming and editing
• Experience performing precision inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using CMM equipment for inspection
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls
• Previous experience serving as a lead machinist, trainer, or technical resource for a machining team

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $37-$49/hour

• Orlando, FL; On-site attendance required
• 1st Shift – 6:00AM-2:30PM
• PPE required (safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas)
