Description

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Blattner is seeking a Sr.Project Manager to join our growing Gas Power Generation team.  This person provides senior leadership and manages the operational and financial aspects of complex, multi-disciplinary programs and projects, including portfolio-level coordination. They serve as a primary liaison with client stakeholders across projects; navigate early project development (NOI to warranty), contract negotiations, engineering early work, sequencing, and supply chain strategies. They enforce Standard Work Instructions and Quality Programs, drive process utilization, safety, and risk management, and ensure the company’s values are upheld.

STEP INTO THE ROLE

Portfolio, Program & Project Leadership

  • Leads portfolio- and program-level planning and serves as sponsor to multiple Project Manager teams, ensuring strategic alignment across projects.
  • Manages projects from NOI through Warranty and sponsors Project Manager teams as needed.
  • Successfully manages multiple complex projects while mentoring and overseeing other Project Managers.

Stakeholder, Client & Communication Management

  • Develops stakeholder engagement strategies and builds strong relationships across projects and programs.
  • Serves as the primary liaison with client teams/leadership, ensuring portfolio-level alignment and strategic decision-making across projects.
  • Independently negotiates complex contracts and exhibits and provides guidance to Project Managers on contract strategy and resolution of high-risk negotiation points.
  • Understands the company mission and supports future opportunities through client relationships.

Requirements, Planning & Scheduling

  • Oversees identification, analysis, documentation, and lifecycle management of requirements across multiple projects, ensuring final deliverables meet strategic and technical expectations.
  • Develops complex, long-term, cross-team schedules; reviews schedules created by Project Managers.

Risk, Quality & Change Control

  • Sets program- and portfolio-level risk strategies, manages escalated risks, and establishes recovery plans across multiple projects.
  • Leads formal review and change-control processes to assess progress and approve adjustments.
  • Leads assurance reviews and third-party audits; supports PMs in resolving issues.
  • Champions best practices, process utilization, quality, safety, and risk management across the organization.

Financial Management

  • Oversees negotiation, prioritization, and deployment of budgets across programs and projects; directs resource allocation decisions and provides financial oversight to Project Manager teams.
  • Oversees project and program budgets, including change management processes.
  • Manages and trains others on monthly financial forecasting and time-phasing.
  • Reviews and validates financial performance across projects, providing guidance to Project Managers and ensuring portfolio-level billing and change controls are accurate.

People Leadership, Coaching & Talent Development

  • Sets direction for large or multiple teams; communicates vision, builds capability, and provides training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Onboards and trains PM1s in tools, processes, workflows, and financial forecasting.
  • Contributes to management of PM1s, including performance reviews, development coaching, and structured growth plans.
  • Provides 1:1 coaching and fosters a high-performance culture.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Drives innovation and contributes to internal initiatives, committees, and cross-functional improvements.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction or engineering; or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • 7 or more years of total project/construction experience; 5 or more years leadership experience; preferred renewable construction experience.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication (oral, presentation, written).
  • Deep knowledge of cost accounting, construction regulations, and risk management.
  • Advanced planning and conceptual skills; able to develop portfolio-level sequencing and schedules.
  • Knowledge of salary structures, market pricing, compensation modeling, and pay practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to prioritize, operate independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to travel.

$184,558.00 - $267,609.00 Individual Compensation to be determined based on the applicant's applicable experience and qualifications balanced against internal equity.
