Position Overview
As an Electrical Project Manager, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of heavy industrial electrical and instrumentation (E&I) construction projects from project startup through commissioning and closeout. You will be responsible for project safety, financial performance, contract administration, procurement, scheduling, customer relationships, subcontractor management, and overall project execution.
This position supports projects involving industrial electrical systems, instrumentation and controls systems, power generation facilities, Midstream energy infrastructure, compressor stations, pipeline facilities, manufacturing plants, processing facilities, and other critical industrial infrastructure throughout North America.
Success requires strong leadership, communication skills, business acumen, and the ability to safely deliver projects while meeting customer expectations, schedule commitments, and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of project execution from project award through commissioning, startup, turnover, and closeout.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, schedules, procurement activities, contracts, change orders, and financial performance.
- Develop project execution strategies that support safety, quality, schedule, and profitability objectives.
- Serve as the primary customer-facing representative throughout project execution.
- Coordinate activities among customers, engineering teams, field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Identify project risks, constructability challenges, schedule impacts, and operational issues while developing effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, contract requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
- Promote and maintain a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
What You'll Do

- Commissioning, startup, loop checks, energization, and turnover activities
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, procurement strategies, and execution plans.
- Monitor project costs, productivity, resource utilization, procurement activities, and financial performance.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure contractual obligations, quality standards, safety requirements, and schedule commitments are achieved.
- Lead customer meetings, forecasting reviews, project updates, and operational planning discussions.
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, estimates, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate closely with Construction Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, Estimators, and executive leadership teams.
- Support project commissioning, startup, owner training, turnover, and closeout activities.

What It Takes
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline and 5+ years of project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing industrial electrical and instrumentation (E&I) construction projects.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, instrumentation systems, process controls, automation systems, commissioning, and startup activities.
- Experience supporting projects involving:
- Medium-voltage power systems
- Low-voltage power systems
- Switchgear
- Transformers
- MCCs
- PLC systems
- SCADA systems
- Instrumentation and controls
- Industrial process equipment
- Electrical distribution systems
- Experience supporting compressor stations, pipeline facilities, Midstream infrastructure, power generation facilities, industrial process plants, manufacturing facilities, or similar industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, procurement, subcontract management, risk management, and contract administration.
- Demonstrated success leading customer-facing projects while balancing safety, quality, schedule, and financial objectives.
- Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar project management platforms is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, financial, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% and support project assignments throughout North America as required.
