Position Overview

The Classroom Paraprofessional Educator works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other members of the school team to support the educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students. The paraprofessional provides direct classroom support to students with special needs and assists in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Under the direction and supervision of the classroom teacher and school leadership, the Paraprofessional assists with instructional activities, student supervision, classroom management, and implementation of individualized student supports. The position also provides support during transitions, arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other school activities.

The Classroom Paraprofessional Educator plays an important role in helping students access instruction, participate meaningfully in the classroom, develop independence, and make progress toward their academic and behavioral goals. The paraprofessional works as part of a collaborative team to ensure that students receive consistent and appropriate support aligned with their individual needs and educational plans.

Qualifications/Experience:

40 hours of college credit, associate’s degree, or ParaPro Assessment score of 450 or higher (required).

Paraprofessional experience (preferred).

CPI certified (preferred).

Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus!
