Job Description:
Job Summary:**
Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain Procurement Manager to lead and optimize our procurement strategies. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for Hitachi's global operations, contributing to our overall business success and innovation.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive procurement strategies for various categories of goods and services, aligning with Hitachi's global supply chain objectives.
* Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management processes, ensuring favorable terms, quality, and delivery performance.
* Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers, technologies, and cost-saving opportunities.
* Manage supplier relationships, performance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and legal teams to understand procurement needs and ensure seamless integration of supply chain activities.
* Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions and geopolitical factors.
* Monitor and analyze procurement metrics, identifying trends, and reporting on key performance indicators to senior management.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, leveraging digital tools and best practices.
* Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, C.P.M.) preferred.
* Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management and procurement, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role, preferably within a large multinational corporation.
* Proven track record of successful negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
* Strong understanding of global supply chain dynamics, logistics, and international trade regulations.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic procurement plans that deliver measurable results.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle).
* Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Fluency in English required; proficiency in Japanese or other relevant languages is a plus.
