Description
Center for Creative Works (CCW) seeks a full time manager of Exhibitions and Art Sales for our Progressive Art Studio in Wynnewood and Philadelphia. CCW is a vibrant Progressive Art Studio with a national reputation, supporting artists with intellectual disabilities to develop a professional art practice as well and to promote and sell their work through inclusive, professional opportunities. Artists at CCW show and sell their work nationally through open calls, art fairs, exhibitions, and on-line. The Exhibitions and art Sales Manager (EASM) coordinates exhibition opportunities for artists in our studios.
This role requires someone with experience building relationships with collectors, galleries and the greater art community; framing and hanging exhibitions; managing an archive data base and collectors and engaging public discourse to promote and value the inclusion of progressive art studio artists in the contemporary art world. The EASM engages in all professional aspects in the development and execution of exhibition and other opportunities to elevate the work of participant artists and the program onto a competitive and inclusive platform in the arts community beyond local recognition and also to promote the work and our artists in every aspect of professional artistic representation. Knowledge of the Progressive Art Studio movement and an understanding, appreciation and value of the art and artists in a contemporary art context is important. The EASM works at both CCW Wynnewood as well as CCW Philadelphia and also participates directly in the studio at times to guide studio artists in the professional development of their studio practice.
The EASM also works with the Program Director to build relationships and collaborations which may lead to opportunities for our artists.

Essential Duties and Functions:
Exhibitions:
- Coordinates with external artists and arts organizations to build inclusive partnerships, ensuring sufficient on-going exhibition and sales opportunities for participant’s work.
- Manages and develops opportunities to benefit participant artists.
- Works with the team on external sales opportunities, including art fairs and other events.
- Submits artists’ work for open calls and other exhibition opportunities.
- Works to establish a strong on-line presence, and initiatives for the promotion of artwork.
- Curates shows both in-house and in the larger community including work with neuro typical guest curators.
- Promotes / coordinates and hangs upcoming exhibitions and design products.
- Coordinates with external artists and arts organizations to build opportunities for participant artists and manages larger partnership projects which involve development of art and visibility.
- Works with the director to build on-going sales opportunities and partnerships.
Marketing and Administration:
- Researches and writes proposals for art related opportunities for participant artists.
- Communicates successes, opportunities, upcoming events and needs.
- Manages the archive data base.
- Builds on CCW’s collector base and manages and develops interest and sales opportunities.
- Manages art sales and corresponding accounts.
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.
- 3 years of personal exhibition history or organization of exhibitions or design licensing.
- Significant knowledge of and network in the local arts community.
- Experience in marketing artwork or other related sales experience preferred.
- Ability to connect with people at multiple levels and broker opportunities for participant artists and designers.
- Demonstrate strong professionalism, organizational, leadership and time management skills.
- Excellent communication both verbally and in written form.
- A working knowledge of the Progressive Art Studio field and demonstrated value for and understanding of the work of neurodivergent artists.
- Self-motivated with the ability to apply and continually develop professional skills.
- Ability to establish priorities, coordinate work activities, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, open, fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekend as well as travel for art fairs and other related events.
- A valid driver’s license.
