UW Medical Center-Northwest - Orthopedic/Neurosurgery Unit (1E Surgical) is hiring Registered Nurses.
WORK SCHEDULE
Multiple positions available.
We are currently hiring RNs who can work 3x12s on the night shift (7:00pm-7:30am), 3x12s on the day shift (7:00am-7:30pm), or 3x12s on the rotating shift (a mix of day shifts and night shifts)
All RNs must be available to work rotating weekend shifts
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
We are a 43-bed unit at a community hospital
We support low acuity telemetry patients, general medical patients, and orthopedic and neurosurgery surgery patients
Common surgical procedures on our floor include knee, hip, and joint replacements, calcified bone treatments, neck surgeries, and laminectomies
Our staffing grid consistently allows for 1:4 and 1:5 nurse to patient ratios

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Work alongside physicians and surgeons in a medical-surgical hospital setting
Perform musculoskeletal health exams
Support pre-operative patients
Administer and monitor pain medication
Treat injuries with wound dressing or casting
Help post-surgical patient increase their mobility
Accurately document patient care outcomes in Epic
REQUIREMENTS
BLS
Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
Equivalent education or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license or certification.
