Title: Positioner and Gripper Sales Associate

Reports To: Director of Welding Positioners & Non-Metallic Fabrication
General Purpose of the Job:
Seeking a motivated and customer-focused Positioner and Gripper Sales Associate to support the sales and growth of our automation, tooling, and material handling product lines. This role serves as a key resource for customers seeking positioners, grippers, and related automation solutions. The ideal candidate will combine technical aptitude with strong sales and relationship-building skills to identify customer needs, recommend solutions, and support projects from quotation through delivery.
Summary of Major Responsibilities/Duties:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Promote and sell positioners, and grippers
- Respond to customer inquiries, requests for quotations, and technical questions.
- Review customer specifications and application requirements to recommend appropriate solutions.
- Generate accurate sales quotes, proposals, and product recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and manufacturing teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Follow up on quotations and sales opportunities to maximize order conversion.
- Maintain customer records and sales activities within the company ERP system.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
- Assist customers with troubleshooting and product support as needed.
- Coordinate order processing, delivery schedules, and customer communications.
- Participate in trade shows, customer visits, and industry events when required.
- Meet or exceed established sales goals and performance metrics.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of sales, customer service, industrial equipment, manufacturing, or automation experience preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and product information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience selling industrial automation products, grippers, robotic tooling, positioners, or custom-engineered solutions.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial applications.
- Experience working with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs), integrators, or manufacturing customers.
- Familiarity with robotics and automated assembly systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 49 pounds.
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally overnight for customer visits, trade shows, and business meetings.
