Surgical Technician (CST) – Full-Time Day Shift with Call
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Surgical Technician, where you will play a vital role in supporting patient care in the Operating Room. This full-time position offers a day shift schedule with on-call responsibilities, along with a sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits for eligible employees.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:30 AM- 7:00 pm (36 hours per week)
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technician (CST) provides care and treatment to patients in the Operating Room. This position may access patient demographics and limited clinical information related to the encounter. The Surgical Technician may also access medication storage areas, excluding controlled substances, as needed to perform job duties.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved program for Surgical Technicians or graduate of a military training program in surgical technology with a high school diploma or GED.
- Certification in BCLS.
- Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of principles and practice of surgical asepsis.
- Successful completion of a hospital and unit-specific orientation which includes age and population specific skills for the area of practice in which the CST will be working and addresses the growth and development needs for the patients for whom the CST will be providing care.
Physical Requirements:
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass a basic FIT test to include bending, stooping, standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Reports to:
Charge Nurse, Nurse Director, Assistant Nurse Director, Administrative Nurse Supervisor, Assistant Vice President of Nursing, and Vice President of Nursing.
