Position Summary:

Supports account managers and project managers by overseeing project execution from order entry phase to release for shipment.  Serve as a liaison between all departments and stakeholders within the company to fulfill large opening orders for clients with maximum efficiency and accuracy. Maintains project schedules, monitors timelines and adjusts orders accordingly. Identifies bottlenecks and uses critical thinking and problem solving skills to determine the best solutions for the client and company.

Essential Functions:

  • Organizes all essential communication for key projects

  • Manages multiple order sheets with daily/weekly updates on order status and provides updates to the respective parties involved.

  • Reviews internal initiatives from a customer perspective to ensure proper execution - updates orders accordingly.

  • Coordinates staging shipment schedule and deadlines with all parties involved including logistics.

  • Directs internal Gordon Food Service teams with new restaurant location openings and closings and assists in managing the new store opening order.

  • Reads and analyzes multiple reports for order verification and problem solves based on the situation to fulfill as close to 100% as possible. Provides teams with shipping summaries and manages backorders.

  • Leads cross functional meetings with account managers, warehouse, supply chain & sales to meet targets.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Highly motivated, self starter with a focus on details and accuracy in a fast paced environment

  • Excellent written, verbal,  organizational and communication skills.  

  • Ability to problem solve and develop solutions to a variety of complex business issues with the ability to balance customer needs within the framework of Gordon Food Service business practices.

  • Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize and work independently or within a team environment

  • A natural desire to serve our customers

  • Strong analytical skills

  • High attention to deadlines

Equipment / Tools / Technology:

  • Advanced knowledge of Google Apps (Gmail, Chrome, Calendar, Docs, Forms, Slides, Sheets, Drive, Sites, Groups)

  • Desktop or laptop computer

  • Networked printer/copier

  • Ability to use multi-line phones (ie. desk, general)

  • Microsoft Office products (Excel, Internet Explorer)

  • GFS order entry and other tools and applications (SAP preferred)
