We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our growing General Practice team. What You’ll Do
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist veterinarians during wellness exams, sick visits, and medical procedures
- Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and treatment information
- Provide safe, low-stress patient restraint and handling
- Monitor patient comfort throughout visits and procedures
- Support surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery
- Provide compassionate care for hospitalized and recovering patients
Experienced team members may support:
- Venipuncture and blood sample collection
- IV catheter placement
- Medication administration
- Vaccine administration
- In-house laboratory diagnostics
- Digital radiology support
- Fecal, urine, and cytology preparation
- Dental procedure assistance
- Surgical preparation and recovery support
Our veterinary team members help create a positive experience for every client by:
- Educating clients on preventative care, medications, nutrition, and treatment plans
- Providing clear home-care instructions
- Supporting pet owners during both routine and emotional moments
- Communicating effectively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client service team members
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate:
- Has 1+ years of experience working in a veterinary hospital environment
- Is comfortable supporting wellness appointments, preventative care, diagnostics, and treatments
- Has experience with restraint, laboratory processes, medication administration, and assisting with procedures
- Enjoys continuing to develop clinical skills through mentorship and hands-on learning
- Understands that veterinary medicine is about caring for both pets and the families who love them
- Provides compassionate, low-stress handling and exceptional patient support
- Takes pride in creating positive experiences for clients and patients
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Is dependable, adaptable, and willing to support the team wherever needed
- Contributes to a collaborative culture focused on high-quality medicine
- Enjoys learning new skills and expanding veterinary knowledge
- Is interested in professional development and career advancement
- Wants to build a long-term career within a supportive veterinary team
- Veterinary Technician degree or enrollment in an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred but not required
- Experience with dentistry, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, laboratory diagnostics, or surgery support is a plus
- Experience with exotics or special interests in veterinary medicine welcomed
This position requires working in a busy veterinary hospital environment where patient care and teamwork are the highest priorities.
- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and remaining active throughout the workday
- Safely handling and restraining dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
- Lifting and carrying patients, equipment, and supplies up to 50 pounds with assistance available when appropriate
- Working around animal dander, fur, odors, cleaning products, disinfectants, medications, and veterinary supplies
- Exposure to animal waste, bodily fluids, blood, and other common veterinary workplace conditions while following safety protocols
- Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required
- Adapting to changing patient needs in a fast-paced clinical environment
