Description
The commodity truck driver position is a person who ensures that potato by product is loaded, transported and delivered to the cattle feed yard and outside sale locations in a safe and consistent manner.
Reports To: Feedyard Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential
- Drive commodity truck
- Load, transport and unload potato waste
- Maintain communication with commodity truck supervisor and feed yard manager.
- Fill out and complete the daily checklist on truck.
- Perform pre and post trip inspections.
- Maintain Beef Northwest Feeders safety standards.
- Adhere to BNW’s HACCP standards.
- Clean up spills that may occur at the potato plants, on the highway and at the feed yard.
- Ability to put chains on in inclement weather.
- Perform maintenance on commodity trucks and trailers.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Must have good time management skills.
- Must have a valid CDL and health card.
- Must be able to operate semi-truck and trailer safely and efficiently.
- Must be able to problem solve.
Typical Physical Requirements
- Requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs to chest height and 50lbs overhead.
