The Opportunity
This position has overall accountability for hands-on, daily supervision of manufacturing operations and personnel while in full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Roche’s corporate principles, quality policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Work effectively within the management team to execute goals, objectives and tasks to achieve desired results.
Responsible for the hands-on, daily supervision of GMP manufacturing operations and personnel within the manufacturing site(s).
Responsible for all day to day operations in the GMP manufacturing suite, as assigned. Specific responsibilities will include:
Hands on supervision and support of manufacturing staff.
Create and revise batch records, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other supporting documents in compliance with cGMP guidelines.
Timely review of completed manufacturing documentation (batch records, forms and logbooks etc.).
Schedule manufacturing staff to ensure manufacturing timelines are met.
Review production schedule and priorities to establish shift assignments.
Ensure required levels of safety, quality and productivity are met.
Provide assistance in problem solving of manufacturing process issues.
Timely reporting, investigation and resolution of manufacturing deviations.
Provide expertise in cross-functional coordination and issue resolution.
Coordinate equipment maintenance activities.
Make recommendations to management on matters relating to human resources, budget and department operations.
Has contact with internal personnel and outside representatives concerning scheduling of specific projects or contracts.
May be involved in conducting briefings and participating in meetings for internal and external representatives concerning immediate area of responsibility.
Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives and closure of audit commitments.
Participate in all aspects of personnel management (interviewing, training, coaching and developing).

Comply with all RSTO’s Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) requirements, never put oneself and others at safety & health risks, and report any workplace accidents, near misses and hazards as soon as practicable.
Observe all RSTO’s site security measures at all times, and report any suspicious characters/objects & damaged security mechanisms to Site Security immediately.
Lean Production System:
Embody PT Lean Production System (LPS), while fostering and advocating a continuous improvement mindset and culture throughout the organization, by encouraging experimentation and learning.
Who You Are
Degree in Life Sciences or Engineering discipline (or equivalent)
Minimum 5 years of related working experience or equivalent holders with combination of education and related work experience
3 or more years in managing teams in biotechnology or pharmaceutical operating environment is preferred
Knowledge of GMP systems and biologics production process
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent leadership skills in team-based environment
Demonstrated advanced troubleshooting skills for resolution of process and equipment problems
Prepared to work on 12-hour shift schedule
Must be able to carry heavy loads of up to 25kg
