Join DayOne – Shaping the Future of Data Infrastructure

DayOne is a global leader in the development and operation of high-performance data centers. As one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry, we’ve built a robust presence across Asia and Europe — and we’re just getting started.

As we expand into new international markets, we’re looking for talented, driven individuals to join us on this exciting journey. This is more than a job — it’s an opportunity to be a key contributor to our dynamic team and help shape the future of global data infrastructure.

If you're passionate about innovation, technology, and growth, we invite you to be part of DayOne’s next chapter.

The EHS Specialist supports the EHS Manager in the governance and assurance of General Contractor (GC) EHS performance across DayOne Data Centre operations and construction projects. The role is execution-focused: it drives the day-to-day processes that keep GC governance running — onboarding and qualification support, compliance tracking, field data management, audit and inspection support, and site observation tracking — so that risks are identified early, controls are verified in work-as-done, and EHS performance is reported accurately and on time.

The Specialist works closely with the EHS Manager, GC site teams, and the wider EHS function, providing the analytical and administrative backbone that enables consistent, data-driven EHS oversight across projects and regions. The role influences EHS outcomes through diligence, presence, and clear reporting rather than through direct authority.

Key Responsibilities

1. GC Onboarding & Qualification Support

  • Support the EHS Manager in administering the GC EHS onboarding and pre-qualification process from initial engagement through to site mobilization.
  • Perform first-pass review of GC EHS management systems, plans, risk assessments, method statements, and emergency preparedness documentation, flagging gaps and inconsistencies for the EHS Manager’s decision.
  • Assess GC submissions against DayOne EHS Minimum Requirements and project-specific criteria, and maintain a clear record of qualification status for each GC.
  • Develop and consolidate project-specific EHS risk and compliance requirements at the global stage, aligning them with DayOne standards and local regulatory obligations; communicate these to GC and internal stakeholders and follow up to confirm understanding and closure.
  • Track identified capability or documentation gaps through to closure, escalating stalled or high-risk items to the EHS Manager.

2. Compliance Process & Documentation Governance

  • Maintain and administer the GC EHS compliance framework, ensuring required documents, permits, certifications, and statutory records are current, complete, and correctly filed.
  • Operate document control for EHS governance materials — version control, distribution, and retrieval — so the EHS Manager and site teams work from a single source of truth.
  • Monitor compliance status against DayOne standards and local regulatory obligations, and prepare compliance status summaries and reminders ahead of expiry or renewal dates.
  • Support the translation of DayOne EHS Minimum Requirements into clear, workable site-level checklists and process artefacts.

3. Site EHS Data Management & Analysis

  • Collect, consolidate, and quality-check EHS data from project sites — leading and lagging indicators, inspection findings, permits, training records, and incident/near-miss data.
  • Maintain EHS data trackers, dashboards, and registers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of submissions from GC site teams.
  • Analyse data to surface recurring risk conditions, behavioural or cultural patterns, and capability gaps across sites and regions, and highlight these to the EHS Manager.
  • Safeguard data integrity and confidentiality, and drive continuous improvement in how site data is captured and reported.

4. Audit & Inspection Support

  • Support the planning, scheduling, and logistics of EHS audits and inspections aligned with DayOne standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist during audits and inspections — evidence gathering, note-taking, and documentation — and help draft clear, factual audit and inspection reports.
  • Maintain the corrective and preventive action (CAPA) register, tracking actions to effective closure and following up with GC teams on overdue items.
  • Help verify that corrective actions address root causes rather than symptoms, escalating recurring or systemic issues to the EHS Manager.

5. Site Observation & Field Assurance Tracking

  • Administer the site observation and field engagement programme — logging, categorising, and trending safety observations, stop-work events, and field findings.
  • Maintain the observation tracking system so that trends in high-risk and high-energy activities, and the effectiveness of critical controls, are visible and reportable.
  • Participate in site walkthroughs and field observations alongside the EHS Manager to understand real work conditions and reinforce a supportive stop-work culture.
  • Ensure observation data feeds cleanly into performance reporting and continuous improvement reviews.

6. EHS Performance Reporting

  • Prepare periodic and ad-hoc EHS performance reports, packs, and dashboards for the EHS Manager, presenting risks, trends, and priority actions clearly and concisely.
  • Consolidate cross-site and cross-regional performance data into a coherent view of GC EHS performance.
  • Ensure reporting is timely, accurate, and decision-ready, with underlying data traceable and auditable.

7. Continuous Improvement & Learning Support

  • Support learning-focused reviews of incidents and near misses, capturing system- and condition-based factors and maintaining the lessons-learned repository.
  • Help share lessons learned and good practices across DayOne projects and regions.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of DayOne’s GC EHS governance processes, tools, templates, and trackers.

Qualifications & Experience Essential

  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ EHS experience in construction, project, or industrial environments.
  • Sound working knowledge of EHS management systems, regulatory requirements, and contractor/GC EHS processes.
  • Strong data management, tracking, and reporting skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets, dashboards, and document control tools.

Highly Desirable

  • ISO 45001 / 14001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification.
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) or working towards NEBOSH Diploma.
  • Nationally recognised safety competency relevant to the base location (e.g. WSQ / WSHO for Singapore; DOSH-registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) / CIDB Green Card for Malaysia).
  • Exposure to data centre, mission-critical, or large-scale construction environments.
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance programmes, or EHS data/reporting systems.
  • Experience developing ISO-compliant safety procedures and documentation.
  • Hands-on experience setting up a safety management system, including its procedures, communications, and audit compliance.

Key Competencies

  • Strong organisational discipline — reliable tracking, follow-up, and closure of actions.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to turn raw site data into clear trends and insights.
  • Accurate, factual, and concise written reporting.
  • Practical, field-focused EHS approach; comfortable engaging on site and with GC teams.
  • Cross-cultural awareness and adaptability across regional and site contexts.
  • Collaborative, dependable, and able to work with limited supervision within a defined framework.
  • Integrity in handling EHS data and confidential information.

DayOne is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
