Senior Mechanical Engineer

Goal of function:

• Responsible for mechanical design & Development of dialysis machines, components and related products

Job Responsibilities

1) Main tasks:

• Design and develop mechanical parts (e.g. Plastic parts and sheet metal, etc.) for HD Machine products
• Perform in the whole development process including design specifications, design evaluation, design reviews, test method design, inspection methods, design transfer and OEM co-ordination.
• Provide/select technical solution for product design; Make mechanical design based on system requirements and relevant standards (e.g. IEC-60601) independently including structure, 3D model, 2D drawing, bills of materials, testing, manufacturing processes, debugging and improvement
• Plan and perform relevant engineering test required for products and instrumentation, based on internal testing requirements and standards.
• Create professional design document according to the Company design control process
• Leverage new materials, new components and new manufacture process in design

2) Secondary tasks:

• Source new materials, components and equipment
• Design and develop jigs and fixtures per testing and manufacturing requirements Support product risk management
• Update the mechanical development environment (tools and devices) in China design center

3) Miscellaneous tasks:

• Communicating with other function teams, such as product center, Headquarter engineering team, purchasing, production, other PEC engineering team etc.
• Other activities as required

Qualifications, experience, know-how and skills critical for success*

1) Required training and education:

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in mechanical engineering or related degree

2) Required professional experience (in years):

• Over 5 years of experience in mechanical design

3) Important personal qualities:

• Experience of communication with vendor
• Spirit of Innovation and team work

4) Other specialized knowledge:

a) Technical knowledge

• Be familiar with common manufacturing process especially injection molding, machining, surface treatment. Also be familiar with common material.
• Be familiar with PRO/E CREO 2.0 or familiar with Solidworks, AutoCAD, PDM, etc.

b) Languages

• Fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese
• Excellent communication skills

c) IT skills

• Familiarity with standard IT office tools

d) Product knowledge

• Understanding of Medical Device Industry

5) Special personal requirements:

• Be comfortable working in a changing environment which requires flexibility and involves risk.
• Be comfortable working under pressure
