North American Institutional Distribution Team
The North American Institutional Distribution Team is responsible for driving growth across MSIM’s public and private investment platform, via the institutional asset owner client channel (i.e., public & corporate pensions, endowments, foundations), through the development of new relationships, the enhancement of existing relationships, and the application of a holistic and partnership-oriented approach to provide a best-in-class client experience.
Highlights & Key Responsibilities
The North American Institutional Distribution Team is seeking a collaborative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented professional to support our institutional client relationships and capital raising efforts in Canada. The candidate should possess strong communication and analytical skills, as responsibilities will include preparing for and hosting meetings, communicating quantitative and qualitative information, preparing competitive analysis on MSIM strategies, and engaging with clients, MSIM investment professionals and other internal stakeholders. This position offers high visibility internally, providing meaningful opportunities for professional growth and development in a variety of client-facing roles.
Responsibilities Include:
- Support 2-3 salespeople in the Canadian marketplace in their efforts to foster client relationships, raise capital, and other business management activities
- Partner with salespeople and investment teams to proactively identify prospects and prepare analyses to position MSIM products effectively
- Respond to client and prospect inquiries, including requests for data, materials on our investment capabilities, search-related information and other ad-hoc requests
- Coordinate across investment teams and other internal functions to prepare client and prospect materials
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of business metrics and reports, utilizing Salesforce and other internal databases
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 0-2 years of relevant investment management experience
- FINRA Series 7 and 63 required (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, team-oriented and collaborative
- Ability to work well under pressure including a proven ability to multi-task and prioritize
- A problem-solver who demonstrates effective organizational skills and follow-through
- Results-oriented with a bias for action and innovation
- Technical and aesthetic proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Office
- Intellectual curiosity and self-motivation
- Maturity, presence, sound judgment, and ability to form and express opinions effectively to cross-divisional teams, including senior management
