Dental Assistant – Alpharetta, GA
A dental practice is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists in delivering efficient, high-quality patient care. The role involves chairside assistance, patient preparation, radiography, infection control, treatment documentation, and assisting with a variety of dental procedures and specialties.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during a variety of orthodontic procedures
- Prepare and set up treatment rooms and equipment
- Prepare patients for orthodontic treatment
- Assist with brackets, bands, wires, aligners, and other orthodontic appliances
- Take dental impressions, digital scans, radiographs, and orthodontic records as directed
- Sterilize instruments and maintain proper infection control procedures
- Provide patients with instructions regarding oral hygiene, braces, aligners, and appliance care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Coordinate and track orthodontic lab cases and appliances
- Support efficient patient flow and clinical operations
- Communicate effectively with patients, orthodontists, and other team members
- Maintain a positive and professional patient experience
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a Dental Assisting program or at least 1 year of Dental Assistant experience
- Current Dental Assisting Permit
- Current CPR certification
- Current X-ray certification required for chairside duties
- Knowledge of dental procedures, infection control, and sterilization
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy requirements
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively in a clinical environment
- Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance if required for business-related driving
