About the Role

McKesson Specialty Care Distribution is seeking a Planning Lead to oversee demand planning, supply planning, and inventory optimization activities across our specialty distribution network. This role is responsible for ensuring product availability, improving forecast accuracy, optimizing inventory levels, and driving operational excellence through effective planning processes.

The ideal candidate brings experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, demand forecasting, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced distribution, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or related environment. This position is a mid-shift role, with start and end times varying based on business needs, workload, system buy-ins, and holiday schedules.

What You'll Do

• Lead demand forecasting and planning activities to improve forecast accuracy and support business objectives.

• Develop and execute supply plans that align inventory, customer demand, and operational requirements.

• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including forecast accuracy, inventory turns, service levels, and aged inventory.

• Optimize inventory levels across the distribution network to balance customer service and working capital objectives.

• Identify potential supply chain risks and implement mitigation and contingency plans.

• Partner with Procurement, Operations, Logistics, Sales, and other stakeholders to support end-to-end supply chain performance.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning processes, operational efficiency, and inventory optimization.

• Prepare and communicate planning performance metrics, trends, and recommendations to leadership.

• Lead, coach, and develop planning team members, fostering accountability and high performance.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Basic Requirements

• Typically requires 5+ years of related experience.

• Experience using ERP and planning systems, such as SAP, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, Oracle, or similar platforms.

• Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, and forecasting.

• Experience analyzing business data and making recommendations based on trends and performance metrics.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to support operational objectives.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Experience in pharmaceutical, specialty healthcare, medical distribution, or regulated supply chain environments.

• Experience leading projects, initiatives, or team members in a planning or supply chain function.

• Experience with inventory optimization, demand forecasting methodologies, and supply planning best practices.

• Familiarity with statistical forecasting and supply chain analytics.

• APICS CPIM, CSCP, or other relevant supply chain certification.

• Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull products weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive physical activities throughout the shift.

• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment and work in a distribution center environment.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
