Psychometrist administer and score neuropsychological and psychological tests. They also may gatherbehavioral data during the test administration process. They work under the supervision of a licensedpsychologist. They assist psychologists providing test results in an organized table.Psychometrist must administer tests according to standard procedures. They also provide detailedbehavioral observations to aid in the interpretation of psychological tests. They adhere to AmericanPsychological Association ethical guidelines.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or other related fields• 1 year of work experience in a mental health clinic or similar institution• CPR certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire.

Essential Functions:• Writes progress notes to keep other clinical personnel informed of patient behavior• Ensures accuracy, security, and availability of information• Observes each patient’s behavioral conditions throughout the testing processes• Provides observation summaries for each patient• Scores evaluations in a standardized manner• Performs inventory checks on forms and tools needed prior to conducting tests• Assists with administrative tasks within the testing department• Assist with pre-testing screening process• Assist with assimilating collateral contacts• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.• Other duties as assigned.

Physical/Mental Requirements:Required to stand, sit, and be mobile one-third to two-thirds of the time. They are required to usehands to finger, handle or feel over two-thirds of the time; while reaching with hands and arms occursone-third of the day. Climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching occur less than one-third ofthe time. Communicating by talking / hearing occurs over two-thirds of the day. Amount of time spentlifting or exerting force is about 50% for up to 10 pounds and less than one-third of the time up to 25 – 40 pounds. Rarely is there a need to lift more than 41 pounds. Must be able to manage efficientkeyboard use, hear, see, speak and read.

Working Conditions:Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment in a clinic. Work may bedemanding and chaotic at times. Exposed to patient population that will present a variety of contagiousdiseases, physical injuries, and emotional states of mind
