Producer, Local Media Game Production (NABET)
Position Summary
The Producer, Local Media Game Production, will work with the Local Game Production Supervisor, Game Production Lead, internal production teams, and local broadcast partners to plan, coordinate, and support the execution of live NBA game broadcasts and related programming. This role supports all phases of production, including pre-production planning, live game execution, and post-production activities, while helping ensure creative, editorial, technical, and operational excellence.
Working in conjunction with the onsite NBA teams’ Producers/Directors and game production teams, the Producer provides production and editorial support for assigned NBA broadcasts and helps ensure the onsite team has the content, resources, information, and production assets necessary for successful game coverage. Reporting to the Game Production Lead, this role works closely with the Local Game Production Supervisor to coordinate game coverage and production support across assigned broadcasts.
Major Responsibilities
- Coordinate production planning with the Local Game Production Supervisor and work in conjunction with the onsite ATL Producer/Director team to support assigned broadcasts.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners on graphics, programming, advertising integration and trafficking, engineering, broadcast operations, and other production requirements.
- Support live game coverage for assigned broadcasts, working closely with the onsite ATL Producer/Director team to help ensure productions meet established creative, editorial, technical, and operational standards.
- Coordinate editorial direction and content needs with the Local Game Production Supervisor, onsite ATL Producer/Director, and other production personnel supporting assigned broadcasts.
- Ensure onsite production teams have the resources, content, information, and production assets necessary for successful broadcasts.
- Provide game production and editorial support during assigned NBA broadcasts, partnering with the onsite ATL Producer/Director and production personnel throughout game-day execution.
- Liaise with contracted and third-party vendors as needed to coordinate services, deliverables, production expectations, and issue resolution.
- Partner with Local Media leadership to identify and implement longer-term enhancements to live game productions.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, operational efficiency, editorial execution, and production quality across Local Media broadcasts.
- Support pre-production planning, game-day execution, and post-production review to drive consistency and continuous improvement across assigned productions.
Required Education/Professional Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Broadcast Journalism, Television Production, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- Five or more years of progressively responsible experience producing live sports broadcasts, including experience as a Producer or equivalent production role; basketball broadcast experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and producing live sports broadcasts in fast-paced environments and progressively taking on more complex production responsibilities.
- Experience with project and rundown management for live productions.
- Experience working with onsite production teams, local broadcast partners, vendors, and cross-functional technical and content teams.
- Experience with remote and/or centralized production workflows, broadcast automation systems, and graphics integration.
- Adobe editing proficiency.

- Demonstrated ability to contribute to compelling live sports broadcasts and positively impact editorial content and presentation.
- Extensive knowledge of NBA teams, players, league operations, historical context, and current storylines.
- Strong editorial judgment and decision-making skills under live production deadlines.
- Exceptional organizational, project management, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, onsite production personnel, broadcast partners, and vendors.
- Strong understanding of live sports production workflows, including onsite and remote production, broadcast automation systems, and graphics integration.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Producers, Directors, and other production personnel in a fast-paced live broadcast environment.
- Ability to travel as required for assigned game productions.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required by the NBA schedule and live production needs.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and consistent production standards.
This is a full-time project employee position represented by NABET-CWA and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Salary Range:
$37.89/hr
