Description
We're seeking someone to join our team as a Vice President in North America Derivatives Clearing Client Service Management to lead a client-focused team responsible for strengthening institutional client relationships, managing operational risk and delivering strategic improvements across the derivatives clearing experience.
In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Team Manager position at Vice President level within Client Service & Relationship Management, which is responsible for managing internal and external client relationships through client-service activities, optimization of the client experience and coordination with business partners.
The North America Client Service Management team supports institutional derivatives clearing clients and serves as a central operational partner across Listed Derivatives and OTC Clearing. The team works closely with clients, the Business Unit, global Operations teams and specialist functions to resolve issues, manage operational risk and improve the overall client experience. Existing NA CSM materials emphasize front-to-back issue ownership, client education, operational reviews, self-service technology adoption and partnership with Margin, Trade Support, Expiry, Risk and Fees teams.

What you'll do in the role:
-Develop staff, lead projects and control deployment of resources, owning management tools/methods such as work queues, checklists, depth charts and calendars
-Set direction and expectations for your team(s), defining training plans and transfer of expert knowledge to contribute to team output and development
-Contribute to business plan for area, establish risk/contingency plans, raise and address issues with urgency when required
-Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations
-Lead the delivery of a consistent, high-quality client-service model across Listed Derivatives and OTC Clearing, ensuring client issues are owned, appropriately escalated and managed through successful resolution.
-Oversee the team's risk management of relevant derivatives-clearing lifecycle events, including margin coordination, expiries, cash and settlement matters, allocations and other material client-impacting events.
Drive strategic client engagement through service reviews, operational metrics, trend analysis, client education and adoption of self-service reporting and technology.
-Partner with specialist teams to clarify ownership, strengthen controls and transition routine transactional activities away from CSM where appropriate, allowing the team to focus on client relationships, risk oversight and value-added service.
Identify and implement opportunities to standardize workflows, automate manual processes and improve the scalability, efficiency and control of the North America CSM operating model.
-Represent North America CSM in client meetings, business reviews, sales discussions, governance forums and global initiatives, providing clear updates to senior stakeholders and ensuring alignment across regions.
What you'll bring to the role:
-Strong relationship building skills serving as a role model for client service
-Ability to think commercially, understand the impact of initiatives, risks on the operational budget
-Experience in managing teams, enhancing control, continuous improvement and reducing operational risk
-Culture carrier and role model, representing and leading the Firm's core values to influence and motivate those around you
-Understanding of derivatives clearing, including Listed Derivatives and OTC Clearing products, operational workflows, risk management and the client trade lifecycle.
-Ability to lead complex client and operational matters, exercise sound judgment under pressure and influence outcomes across Business Unit, Operations, Technology and control partners.
-At least six years of relevant experience would generally be expected to provide the skills required for this role.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $172,500 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs
