Inpatient Therapist Lead

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Lead Therapist, you will help provide and coordinate a high-quality, client-oriented therapy rehabilitation program.

 

Every day you will monitor and coordinate daily schedules and order management, participate in multidisciplinary rounds, coordinate and review case management, train and orient staff, assist with timecard editing, maintain a safe, organized therapy environment, participate in quality assurance, and provide direct patient care within your licensure.

 

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong therapy leadership/coordination experience, expertise in client-centered rehabilitation programs, and the ability to manage work environments and staff development.

• Interview patient, family, caregivers, significant other to obtain information about prior level of function, home environment, family relationships, health & psychosocial history.

• Performs client tests, measurements and evaluations as indicated for the patient’s condition.  Plans, prepares, and administers care plans  based on evaluations, best practice, and any appropriate age, diagnosis, and/or department care standards.

• Supervises Therapy Assistants and/or technicians who are involved with treatment.
• Orients and trains therapy staff regarding patient care, safety, policy and procedures, and professional behavior upon hire and as needed thereafter.
• Coordinates and provides feedback on chart audits. Provides feedback to the supervisor for staff annual performance appraisals. Assists with clinical issues and follow up with corrective action plan adherence when appropriate.
• Serves as a resource/mentor for staff related to clinical practice, documentation, and other department processes.

Job Requirements

Required

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an Accredited Therapy Program.
• Oregon Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist License
• AHA BLS
• Three (3) years of Patient Care Experience in a broad based rehabilitation facility, with the most recent year being in AIM therapies.
• Leadership experience or strong leadership skills related to significant project management or team activities in the last two years.
