Landfill Gas Systems Manager (RNG)
Location: Champ Landfill, St. Louis, Missouri
Compensation: $110,000 - $120,000 base salary + 10%-15% annual cash bonus + 10%-15% annual RSU award (target total compensation up to $140,000, based on experience)

We're looking for a Landfill Gas Systems Manager (RNG) to lead the landfill gas collection and control system (GCCS), oversee RNG operations, and support environmental compliance efforts at Champ Landfill. This role offers the opportunity to work at one of the industry's most advanced landfill gas recovery facilities while partnering with landfill leadership, engineers, consultants, and renewable energy developers to maximize performance and sustainability.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Sciences, or a related field preferred
- Direct work experience in the majority of the following areas:
- Several years supervising and developing one (1) or more direct reports
- GCCS and/or control device (flares) monitoring and maintenance
- Gas processing, compression, and combustion equipment operation and maintenance
- GCCS monitoring, data evaluation and wellfield optimization
- Environmental site inspections/audits, assessments, and remediation
- Construction quality assurance on heavy civil or earthwork projects
- Strong leadership, project coordination, and contractor management skills
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, environmental reporting systems, and AI tools for data analytics
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Technicians and Operators to manage the GCCS to maximize gas capture and maintain regulatory compliance
- Direct renewable energy developer(s) and contractors to ensure performance expectations are met while maximizing financial returns to Waste Connections
- Ensure landfill gas systems, leachate collection systems, and stormwater discharges remain compliant with all Federal, State, and local regulations
- Perform routine monitoring, inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on landfill gas systems, pumps, and dewatering equipment
- Maintain electronic reporting systems, compliance databases, and field monitoring instruments
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with landfill operations personnel, consultants, contractors, regulators, and renewable energy developers
- Support landfill environmental reviews, audits, permitting activities, and compliance inspections
- Assist the Region Engineer with planning and execution of environmental, infrastructure, and construction projects
- Provide technical guidance and field support to other Waste Connections business units within the division
- Track system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support landfill gas optimization initiatives
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions and maintain flexibility to respond to operational and compliance needs as required
